At ServiceIQ, we know that training doesn’t have to be all textbooks and no fun – sometimes it’s about creating opportunities, making memories, and maybe spilling a little coffee along the way!
Our partnership with Flourish Café, a place that empowers young people with intellectual disabilities through hands-on training in Takapuna, is a beautiful example of the impact we’re creating with our Hospitality Savvy Award.
How we are helping Flourish Cafe trainees thrive:
- Regular Visits from ServiceIQ Sector Training Advisor and Equity Advisor: The advisors pay regular visits to the café to ensure that the trainees are getting the right support and staying on track.
- Weekly Engagement with Literacy Aotearoa: Each trainee gets 20 hours of personalised literacy support.
- Access to Vitae Counselling Services: Our trainees get access to Vitae’s free, confidential counselling services.
- Tailored Resources: We don’t believe in 'one-size-fits-all' when it comes to training. That’s why we provide Flourish Café with resources specifically designed to fit their needs.

A Partnership That’s Brewing Up Success
We’re incredibly proud of the work happening at Flourish Café. Watching these trainees grow and develop new skills has been nothing short of inspiring. They’re not just learning to make great coffee and serve delicious food – they’re gaining the skills and confidence to thrive, paving the way for a brighter future.
We’re thrilled to continue supporting Flourish Café in this journey!
